My visit to Balneario y Los Hervideros was very pleasant. The water was warm, the food was good, and the Negra Modelos were cold. What more could you ask for.

A view of one of the swiming pools. I jumped in one to the East. It felt pretty good but it also felt and smelled like it had a high mineral content. |
The workers were working on this pit. That is rebar on the bottom of the photo. The water in the bottom was coming out at 95oC, which is pretty close to boiling at this altitude. |

Rodolfo was showing me the hotwater springs, when the foreman came over and gave us a tour. I thought it was similar to being in Noris Geyser Basin minus the geysers. The water is very hot at Noris and so is the water at Balneario. |
This is a spring that was used to cook meat or etc. in the past. |

This is a device that they use to dry the water away, which leaves the salt that is in solution in the water. |
This steam bath was hot enough that when the foreman took us in so we could see what it was like, my glasses fogged over so bad that I had to take them off. |
